No matter the location worldwide, the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) evening of prayer can be viewed live in every time zone.
The June 16 prayer focus on spiritual awakening and global missions also will be carried on the Daystar Television Network that evening and re-broadcast later that night.
SBC President Ronnie Floyd has titled it “A National Call for Prayer to All Southern Baptists for the Next Great Awakening and to Reach the World for Christ.”

“God is opening the doors to forward to the entire world the need to pray,” Floyd said. “This will provide an opportunity for Southern Baptists who cannot come to Columbus, plus all evangelicals and beyond, to join us in this Kingdom cause.”
Floyd and 11 other pastors will lead the session on the opening night of the June 16-17 SBC annual meeting at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Ohio’s capital city.
The Call for Prayer, to be live-streamed at sbcannualmeeting.net, will begin at 6:45 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, preceded by 15 minutes of worship in music. Churches with Internet access can show the event in their auditoriums or other meeting rooms, while individuals and small groups can watch in home settings.
In other U.S. time zones, the worship in music and Call for Prayer will begin at 5:30 Central, 4:30 Mountain and 3:30 Pacific, and it will be archived at sbcannualmeeting.net within 24 hours. The entire convention will be livestreamed and then archived, from its opening worship time on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. Eastern until its closing prayer at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
On Daystar – with a potential reach to 108 million households in the U.S. and 700 million worldwide – the Call for Prayer will air from 8:30-10 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday (5:30 p.m. Pacific) and then at 1 a.m. Eastern (10 p.m. Pacific). It subsequently can be viewed at Daystar.com as a Video on Demand option for a limited time. Daystar also offers an app for iPhone and Android for on-the-go viewing.
Based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Daystar’s 24/7 programming is aired on 70 television stations and various cable and satellite networks.
In addition to Floyd, pastor of Cross Church in northwest Arkansas, two former SBC presidents, Jack Graham and James Merritt, will be among the evening’s leaders. Graham is senior pastor of the Dallas-area Prestonwood Baptist Two former Church; Merritt is lead pastor of the Atlanta-area Cross Pointe Church.
Other leaders scheduled for the Call for Prayer (in alphabetical order) are Timmy Chavis, senior pastor of Bear Swamp Baptist Church in Pembroke, N.C., and chairman of the SBC Multi-Ethnic Advisory Council; Steve Gaines, senior pastor of the Memphis-area Bellevue Baptist Church; David Galvan, lead pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista – Nueva Vida in Dallas; J.D. Greear, pastor of The Summit Church in Durham, N.C.; Paul Kim, pastor emeritus of Antioch Baptist Church in Cambridge, Mass.; Vance Pittman, senior pastor of Hope Baptist Church in Las Vegas; Ted Traylor, pastor of Olive Baptist Church in Penscola, Fla.; Ken Whitten, senior pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Fla.; and K. Marshall Williams, pastor of Nazarene Baptist Church in Philadelphia and president of the Natiional African American Fellowship.
Julio Arriola, global worship pastor for Cross Church, will lead the music, along with the church’s choir and band.
