I offer my congratulations to the Flat Rock Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Calling a woman as their pastor is to be commended. John’s Gospel contains the story of the woman at the well where Jesus witnessed to her about her life. He made such an impression that she went to her village and shared her experience.
She invited those who would listen to “Come and see ...” Those hearing her “... left the city and were on their way to him.” Flat Rock Church just may be where all people can “Come and see” because they are hearing a woman who has heard, as did the woman at the well (John 4:26b).

I really appreciate the fact that your editorials are
emphasizing the Seven Pillars for Ministry developed by (Milton A.) Hollifield
(Jr.). Your editorials have hit the target — the one this week is
especially superb. Living in a secular world as we do, and with the threat
posed by radical Islam moving all around the world, the need has never been
greater for churches and Christians to reach the unreached for Christ. Baptists
have never agreed on all things, but the need for evangelistic outreach should
be the one thing we should agree on. Thanks!

I just wanted to thank you for the great (editorial) you wrote for the latest edition (Aug. 6) of the Biblical Recorder — “Reaching the Unreached.”
I commend this article to my church members and immediately clipped it out and posted it on my office door and hope folks will read it soon.
It is so refreshing to read a positive article about the power of God to save; and to be encouraged to go and tell the Good News.
I hope and pray your transition to this new position has been smooth and that God will bless you and your new ministry.

For the past several years I have considered requesting my
church to discontinue my subscription to (the Biblical Recorder) because I
found very little encouraging news about N.C. Baptists and Southern Baptists.
Today I have read the entire paper (Aug. 6 issue), and I am
thrilled about the positive materials regarding the prayer focus.
I am actually excited about the suggested downloads.
I am grateful for Milton Hollifield’s vision — and I am
especially thankful that BR is on the same team. Recent years have shown
BR to be the devil’s advocate as anti-Baptist. I hope this indicates a turn
around.
Thank you that this issue reeks with news of Christians who
know that God is our only hope!

I am sending this to you to commend Kings Grove Baptist
Church for their help in the recovery efforts after a F-3 tornado hit Glade
Spring, Va., in April. This church called me the very next day wanting to help.
They have had as many as 40 volunteers to spend several weekends in Glade
Spring rebuilding. This church is really missions active. We are grateful for
their help.
On behalf of the people in the Glade Spring, Va.,
area, I want to thank Kings Grove
Baptist Church
in Edneyville, for their tireless efforts and work that you have done in the
Glade Spring recovery. Thank you for the work on (the) garage and for building
the handicap ramp.
God’s blessing on you for your mission activeness.
