2012 Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief
North Carolina Baptist Men were on the front lines of disaster response in the wake of Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast. Hurricane Sandy caused at least 50 U.S. deaths, record flooding, massive power outages and extensive devastation as it roared ashore Oct. 29 near New York City.
2012 Embrace Women's Conference
Ladies from across North Carolina gathered in Wake Forest Oct. 26-27 for “Worthy of the Calling,” an Embrace Women’s Ministry leadership training event through the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. Bobbye Rankin, wife of IMB president emeritus Jerry Rankin, was the main speaker.
2012 Shelby Mission Camp
Shelby Mission Camp was dedicated and pronounced open for ministry in an April 29 service attended by hundreds of volunteers and supporters.
2012 Spring Break Mission Trips
While most people picture spring break as a time to escape to the beach or the mountains, North Carolina Baptist college students took time to serve. Students participated in these trips from schools such as Southeastern Seminary, UNC, Gardner-Webb University and Chowan University.
2012 WMUNC Missions Extravaganza
The annual Missions Extravaganza, Woman’s Missionary Union of North Carolina (WMU-NC) annual meeting was April 20-22 at Ridgecrest Conference Center, Black Mountain. The event included worship, raising support for the Heck-Jones Offering, break-out sessions, and more.
