The 2015 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting will feature for the first time the Women’s Leadership Breakfast sponsored by the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS). The meeting is scheduled for June 17, 7-8:15 a.m. in the Harrison Room of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus, Ohio. The purpose is to equip women for godly leadership.

Five panelists will discuss a range of topics related to women in leadership, such as leadership development for ministry wives, theological education and navigating the secular workplace, among others.

The panelists include moderator Lizette Beard, project manager at LifeWay Research; Denise O’Donoghue, director of Women’s Life at SEBTS; Elicia Horton, wife of D.A. Horton, National Coordinator of Urban Student Missions at NAMB; Kathy Litton, national director of Ministry to Pastors’ Wives at NAMB; and Selma Wilson, vice president of organizational development at LifeWay Christian Resources.

“We are seeking to bring women of the SBC together,” said Amy Whitfield, director of communications at SEBTS, “and host a conversation that focuses on the importance of equipping [women] for leadership wherever they are going.

“We’re fortunate to have women among our churches and entities who are stewarding this gift well and modeling how to wisely develop and use it for the kingdom in any season of life. This provides an opportunity to hear them share their knowledge and help think through this important topic.”
