Position: Full-Time Associate Pastor of Children’s Ministry

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Associate Pastor of Children’s Ministry. This role is crucial in guiding our youngest members in their spiritual growth, helping them understand who God is, the unconditional love He has for them, and how to cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus. As an Associate Pastor, this position works closely with the Senior Pastor and the Pastoral Team to carry out our mission – FBC Asheboro, Where the Gospel comes first!

Responsibilities:
– Supervise the planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating of a comprehensive ministry to preschoolers, children, and their parents.
– Work as part of the church’s ministerial team, attend regular staff meetings, participate in hospital visitation, home visits, worship leadership and communication especially concerning preschool/children’s ministry.
– Coordinate planning and presentation of children’s sermons with the pastor and guide the church in providing worship experiences to meet the needs of children. Work with the pastor in planning parent/child dedication services. Assist older preschoolers and their families with an introduction to congregational worship.
– Work with the Nominating Committee, department directors, and program directors in enlisting and equipping leaders for preschool and children’s ministries.
– Keep informed about current ministry ideas, resources, and methods in the area of preschool and children’s ministries.
– Evaluate and secure curriculum, resources, and teaching materials.
– Evaluate and advise concerning philosophy and procedures in the preschool and children’s areas.
– Develop and maintain an active outreach ministry to preschool, children, and their families.
– Provide special events and seminars for parents and teachers.
– Plan and coordinate special events, fellowships and ministry opportunities for preschool and children.
– Counsel children and their families about conversion and church membership.
– Plan and coordinate Bible Drill and annual Vacation Bible School.
– Coordinate the preschool and children’s ministry with the organizational calendar and emphases of the church.
– Facilitate the sharing of space, resources, and teaching materials by church and childcare teachers.
– Prepare an annual budget for all preschool and children’s ministry to recommend to the Budget and Finance Committee and oversee its use.
– Coordinate and staff Bonus Teaching Hour and childcare during special church-wide functions.
– Coordinate Upward Sports Ministry.
– Perform other duties as assigned.
