Editor: Where is the wisdom?
K. Allan Blume BR Editor | In the news ... I want to call to your attention to some interesting news items this week. I believe there is a serious famine of wisdom in our culture. I hope my editorial in this week’s edition of the Biblical Recorder will be a catalyst for a new quest for wisdom. There is so much that could be written on this issue. Let’s become models of God’s wisdom in a world that has a lot of knowledge but knows almost nothing about wisdom. Roman Gabriel writes a sports Q&A each month for the Recorder. This week he is in New Orleans at the Super Bowl. He is interviewing Christian athletes and sending us video stories for the BR website. Check Brnow.com regularly for video updates from Roman. There is an interesting update in the Dan Cathy/Chick-fil-A story. An article was posted on the Huffington Post by a gay activist who has been meeting with Dan Cathy for several months. Cathy initiated a friendship with this man. The activist has learned that Cathy is not a hateful, bigoted man! He is actually a genuine, friendly man of character. Reading the story reminded me of Jesus looking into the sycamore tree and saying, "Zaccheus, come down out of the tree and dine at my house today." You’ve got to read this one.
