K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Blackwell celebrates 30 years Michael Blackwell is one of the most respected North Carolina Baptists alive today. His stellar example of commitment, passion and enthusiasm through his leadership as president of the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) for 30 years has no comparable model. Shawn Hendricks, managing editor of the Biblical Recorder, interviewed Dr. Blackwell recently and wrote an article in commemoration of this significant milestone in ministry. You can read the story on the website, but you will not get the full impact unless you see the June 22 printed edition of the Biblical Recorder. The centerfold shows a timeline of Blackwell’s ministry at BCH. It charts an impressive series of accomplishments. The Recorder staff gives our warmest congratulations to Michael Blackwell as all N.C. Baptists celebrate his 30 years of leadership on Monday, July 1. Like many of you, I value his personal friendship and appreciate his faithfulness as a servant of God. Please take a moment to let him know that you appreciate him, also. This is a good time to remind you that your BR staff has three primary ways to deliver news and information to you and your church fellowship. (1) The printed Biblical Recorder, (2) the website BRnow.org and (3) the weekly e-newsletter BRweekly. Each of these is unique, and the three do not have identical content. If you do not receive the printed Biblical Recorder, you are not getting the staff changes, obituaries, worship vignettes, prayer vignettes, special announcements, church features and special features like the center fold on Michael Blackwell. Be sure you and your congregation are informed and inspired with information from the Recorder. Email me: [email protected] |
