K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Reaching the Nations Last week’s Reaching the Nations conference was the first conference of its kind in North America and the Biblical Recorder’s content editor, Seth Brown, covered the Brentwood, Tenn. event for you. I believe you will appreciate his story, "Diaspora missions conference called ‘catalytic moment." Speakers said the world that Jesus commanded us to reach with the gospel is now here. They live in our neighborhoods, we shop in the same stores and we vote in the same polling places. They need to know the Savior who died for them. We also posted several stories about another conference in the Nashville area. Our Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission held their 2016 national conference. Read this story about the interesting messages and breakout sessions. Are you taking advantage of a special offer to give the Biblical Recorder to anyone who has joined your church from a non-Baptist background in the past two years? It’s a great way to help them understand the vision and mission engagement of North Carolina Baptists and Southern Baptists. Do you realize they will get free access to the Digital Edition of the Recorder as well as the print issue? Contact our circulation manager, Liz Tablazon (919-459-5693), to get this going in your church. It’s always a privilege to serve our churches. Sunday I was honored to preach both morning services at Pitts Baptist Church, Concord. Pastor Scott Davis has led this church fellowship to actively engage the lost in their community and around the world. Sunday was a special day to emphasize the church’s mission involvement during morning services, around a barbecue lunch and in a missions fair setting after lunch. What a great way to let the church family know their missionaries and see the many ministries they support! I hope you enjoy a great Labor Day weekend. People need to know!
