K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Pro-life issues are in the news News headlines have given more attention to pro-life issues recently. President Trump signed several executive orders that support the pro-life cause. The Women’s March on Washington focused on the culture of death, which is driving some to rethink their opposition to pro-life issues. Last Sunday was Sanctity of Life Sunday, and this Friday is the 2017 March for Life in Washington. I’m glad to see these discussions elevated, and I’m glad that the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention has partnered with Focus on the Family to host the second annual Evangelicals for Life Conference in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with Friday’s March for Life. The Biblical Recorder’s content editor, Seth Brown, interviewed one of the keynote speakers for this conference. Please read this interesting interview with John Stonestreet, president of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. Check out the editor’s note at the end of the story to learn how you can follow the live simulcast of this outstanding event. In my editorial this week I shared a portion of a powerful prayer that John Piper prayed for our president and nation. If you have not heard about his prayer, you really need to read this. Ginny Brant, a contributing writer for the Biblical Recorder, wrote a great guest column about some Christians on Clemson’s national football championship team. This article about head coach Dabo Swinney and the team’s quarterback, Deshaun Watson. Read this encouraging story here. Finally, take note: Super Bowl week begins in a few days.
