Seth Brown BR Content Editor | Now is the time to pray, give The Biblical Recorder’s editor, Allan Blume, is on assignment in Eastern Europe this week. On his journey he is meeting with IMB missionaries, preaching, teaching, and covering developments in the ongoing Moldova partnership N.C. Baptists began four years ago. Speaking of Christians across the globe, did you read the open letter that International Mission Board (IMB) President David Platt wrote to Southern Baptists? In the heartfelt message Platt addresses concerns some Baptists have about the recent announcement that IMB is implementing an “organizational reset” to achieve a balanced budget, including a drawdown of 600-800 personnel. Take time to read the letter, and then pray for our Southern Baptist missionaries and the future of Southern Baptist missions. Don’t miss the latest entry in a series of guest columns by Brian Davis, Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSC) associate executive director-treasurer. Davis calls churches to ask important, biblical questions as they consider their wedding and facility-use policies. Davis also calls attention to a free resource that includes samples and templates for creating church policies provided by the BSC. To receive a copy, email Davis at [email protected]. September is a month of emphasis for the North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO). The funds received through the offering help support the ministries of North Carolina Baptist Men (also called Baptists on Mission), local associations and church planting. See how your generosity enables church planting in N.C. by reading this story about Mike Klapp and his desire to start a church in Fayetteville – Third Shift Church – with the specific purpose of ministering to shift workers. Keep your eyes open for more stories in the Biblical Recorder and at BRnow.org about how NCMO supports ministries in N.C.
