K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Three Forks Church leads the way One of the great joys I have as editor of the Biblical Recorder is to preach in our churches, associations and conferences across the state. Last Wednesday, April 18, it was my privilege to preach for a revival service at Three Forks Baptist Church in Taylorsville. It was part of a series of services with a different preacher for each service. The beautiful church facilities are surrounded by rolling hills, green pastures and lush trees. Pastor Carson Moseley has led this church family to be on the front line of mission giving. According to the 2017 Cooperative Program giving report published in the April 7 edition of the Recorder, Three Forks was the top giving church in the Alexander association in Cooperative Program, Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong gifts. I commend these brothers and sisters for their leadership and generosity! There are many forces at work against the local church that challenge our effectiveness and even our very existence. The world and its secular systems have always opposed the church. We’re not surprised by that – the Bible tells us to expect it. But the challenges of the church seem to be growing in intensity. Your Biblical Recorder team wants to help you with some of these challenges. We serve you by giving churches an advantage. We believe pastors and church leaders have an advantage when the congregation is on the same page with information that supports the church’s vision and ministry. But, often a pastor feels like church members are bombarded throughout the week with news and information that distracts them from their spiritual growth and directs them away from the church’s vision. Your church needs the BR advantage! Be sure everyone in your church has access to a printed copy of the Biblical Recorder, is checking BRnow.org regularly, has downloaded the BR app on their smartphone and is receiving this BRweekly e-newsletter. I believe you will see the advantage. Let us know how we can serve you better. Thank you for your support. People need to know!
