Our Board of Directors approved two exciting changes in its
Sept. 26 meeting. First we are excited to welcome Shawn Hendricks as our new
managing editor. Shawn comes to us with rich experience in journalism as a
senior writer at the International Mission Board for almost a decade. He will
begin work with us Oct. 24.
The board also voted to move our offices into the Baptist
State Convention’s facilities in Cary. When the Baptist building was constructed
in 1982, space was designed for the Biblical Recorder. However, the Recorder’s
leadership chose to purchase facilities in Raleigh. After 30 years in separate
locations, we will move to Cary at the end of December. This will provide
better stewardship of Cooperative Program dollars and improve our relationship
with North Carolina Baptists.
Another announcement is that the new design for the BR
website will launch this week. There are many improvements including the speed
of the site and ease of navigation. Visit us at BRnow.org.
Please be patient as the BR staff works out any issues
resulting from the relaunch.
