Over the past few weeks and days, I’ve spoken with many pastors who continue to pray for God’s wisdom as they faithfully lead their church congregations through these uncharted waters. Eager to 'reopen'

As we look toward the month of May, everyone is eager to return to their normal habits as COVID-19 restrictions are expected to begin easing. Each of us has elements of life that we miss from the time before coronavirus, especially gathering with our local churches in Sunday worship.

I want to encourage our readers in two ways as we approach the coming weeks.

1) Be diligent as you read and share information. State and local governments will continue to communicate lots of information about when and how restrictions will lift. North Carolina has announced a pending three-phase process for "reopening." There are plenty of opportunities for mistaken or confusing information to spread. Take the extra time to read, understand and share accurate news.

2) Be gracious as leaders make tough decisions and as neighbors react to the obstacles they face. This is a unique time for all of us. We each have opinions that are shaped by our understanding and our life situation. We don't have to agree about the best way forward. But we should be kind and patient with one another.

As always, your BR staff will be here to provide the information and inspiration you need to stay focused on the Great Commission.
