“On Mission Together” will be the theme for the N.C. Baptist annual meeting for the fifth year in a row.
An emphasis on the Great Commission that includes a missionary sending celebration, the launch of a new international missions initiative and a focus on reaching the next generation for Christ will be among the highlights of this year’s N.C. Baptist annual meeting.
N.C. Baptists will gather for the 2025 annual meeting Nov. 10-11 at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center in Greensboro under the theme of “On Mission Together.”
Psalm 90:17 will serve as the supporting Scripture passage for the event, which says, “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands” (ESV).
“As N.C. Baptists, we want to be a movement of churches on mission together and ask the Lord to give us favor,” said Todd Unzicker, executive director-treasurer for N.C. Baptists. “We want everyone who attends the annual meeting to be encouraged by the different ways God is using N.C. Baptists to draw people to Himself from every tribe, tongue, people and nation.
“There are a lot of things we could talk about that are important, but we are going to be all about the Great Commission.”
The emphasis on the Great Commission will be on display from the outset of the meeting. The opening session on Monday night, Nov. 10, will include a special sending celebration for missionaries who are being commissioned by N.C. Baptist churches to take the gospel to the nations.
Unzicker will also deliver his annual executive director-treasurer’s address in conjunction with the sending celebration. During his address, Unzicker will announce a comprehensive missions mobilization strategy for N.C. Baptists that is being developed in partnership with the International Mission Board. The initiative will focus on missions mobilization, missionary care and long-term sending. Complete details about the initiative will be announced at the meeting.
Additionally, Shane Pruitt, national next-gen director with the North American Mission Board, will deliver this year’s convention sermon on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 11.
The annual meeting will also include times of worship, ministry reports, exhibits, business sessions, breakout sessions, special events and more. The meeting will be preceded by the annual N.C. Baptist Pastors’ Conference on Nov. 9-10.
For the second consecutive year, event organizers voted to implement a streamlined schedule that does not include a Tuesday evening session. This year’s meeting is anticipated to adjourn at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Registration for church messengers and guests will open Monday, Sept. 15. Attendees may also make reservations at the convention center hotel at a special rate of $129 per room, per night through Oct. 8. After Oct. 8, reservations must be made directly with the hotel at regular rates.
