Pole Creek Baptist Church, a steadfast pillar of faith in the Candler community for over 100 years, is prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor to lead us into a new season of gospel-centered ministry. With an active membership of approximately 250, and situated in a region poised for growth, we are a Southern Baptist church rooted in unwavering commitment to the inerrant Word of God and the truth of the gospel.

Our church has long been a beacon of hope, service, and truth in Western NC. We are dedicated to making disciples, ministering to our neighbors, and standing boldly on the unchanging truth of Scripture.

The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a seasoned leader with a shepherd’s heart, a servant’s spirit, and a theologian’s mind – someone who:
– Embraces and boldly proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ.
– Affirms the Bible as the fully true and singular authority for faith and life.
– Is committed to Southern Baptist doctrine and cooperative missions.
– Has proven experience in leading churches through seasons of transition and growth.
– Demonstrates strong preaching, pastoral care, and leadership skills.
– Values both legacy and vision-able to honor the past while leading confidently into the future.

Responsibilities
– Provide strong, biblical preaching and teaching that equips the church to grow in faith and outreach.
– Cast and communicate a clear, Christ-centered vision for the future of the church.
– Lead and collaborate with church staff, deacons, and ministry teams.
– Offer pastoral care and spiritual leadership to the congregation.
– Encourage engagement in local missions and global outreach.
