At a time when a church's website and online resources have never been more important, a new service from LifeWay Christian Resources offers church leaders a way to better connect with members and potential guests through Web and mobile channels.
The new online content management system, named twenty:28, offers churches, ministries and nonprofits the ability to build and maintain their Web presence with a website, e-giving and mobile apps.
Matt Morris, a digital strategy and electronic publishing manager with LifeWay, said twenty:28 is the only online service of its type that integrates a mobile app with the other products offered through the content management system.
Mobile connectivity is especially important as 63 percent of adult cell phone owners use their phone to go online, according to Pew Research. That number only increases among younger adults.
Morris also noted that churches using twenty:28's e-giving platform can receive all of the services for free if they meet a certain giving threshold each month.
"In essence, the more you use it, the less it costs," he said.
Putting websites, mobile apps and e-giving under one roof allows twenty:28 to live up to its mission of serving churches, Morris said. The suite of services draws its name and mission from Matthew 20:28, in which Jesus says He came not to be served but to serve.
As part of this emphasis, the company has partnered with the North American Mission Board to make twenty:28 services available for free to church plants for one year.
Other churches can use twenty:28 without cost for 60 days. A third of the churches that sign up for the free trial already have moved over to starting an account, Morris said.
