WILMINGTON, Ohio (BP) — An Ohio pastor was arrested on abuse-related charges earlier this month.
Silas Shelton, pastor of Blanchester Community Ministries, faces 11 charges, local news outlets reported, including rape, gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
WKRC in Cincinnati reported Shelton is charged with having sex with a minor who was a member of his church in 2022, and some of the counts stem from incidents dating back to 2019.
Shelton, 48, was arrested Oct. 15 and indicted Oct. 22 during a hearing in which he pleaded not guilty to all counts.
The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) issued a statement Oct. 16 asking for more information from the public.
“Out of respect for the privacy and safety of the victim and family, WPD will not release identifying information,” the statement said.
“… Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact Detective Codey Juillerat at 937-382-3833.”
Shelton is being held at the Clinton County Adult Detention Center on a $2 million bond.
