K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Telling 'the Story' Someone has said, "Christianity is always one generation from extinction." Only one generation of disobedient Christians, failing to be witnesses, could cause the church to cease to exist. Alarmist? I don’t think so. It’s unavoidable truth. Early in the Book of Acts our Lord said He would equip each believer to be a faithful witness by the power of His Spirit. Then, we will share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ alone to everyone – beginning in our own neighborhood and extending to every part of the world. There are many witness training tools available to us, and more are being produced every year. That’s a good thing. We need the encouragement and every generation needs a fresh approach in order to prevent stale routines from robbing us of the joy of witnessing. We are excited to point you to another great witnessing tool in Dianna Cagle’s article, Christians learn to tell ‘the Story.’ Southeastern Seminary’s Alvin Reid, George Robinson and others worked together to develop a creative and effective tool sharing the gospel. I hope you will read this story. Watch for more stories about effective witnessing in coming editions of your Biblical Recorder. We hope to encourage every believer to be a faithful witness. That is what the Great Commission is all about. Don't miss the Culture Reach Evangelism Conference this Monday, Feb. 25 at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. |
