Pornography is a serious epidemic that is dismantling the moral structures of personal relationships and societal order worldwide. The porn industry has skyrocketed in the past decade. Because it is so readily available through electronic media, the public standards that have traditionally opposed pornography have crumbled. It is destroying marriages, producing artificial views of sex, misrepresenting the true nature of beauty, and degrading women.
Pastors have struggled with getting a handle on a solution to the plague of porn. Pastor Jay Dennis of Lakeland, Fla., has produced a response that every pastor needs to implement. I listened to Dennis explain the strategy in a meeting of editors recently in Oklahoma City, Okla. I came away convinced that he has a real solution that men will respect.
On page 10 of this week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder, we reported the story along with the "porn-free commitment" men are making with great success. You can also read the story on BRnow.org, "Movement seeks 1 Million Men to fight pornography addiction."
Materials are available now for pastors and churches to join this movement to enlist 1 million men who will stand for truth and moral integrity. A complete presentation of the strategy is planned for the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Houston, Texas, in June.
This is not something to take lightly. Get answers. Join the movement.
