K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Caraway's big step Caraway has been the epicenter of life-changing experiences for thousands of people over the past 50 years. This camp and conference center has grown to the level of touching more than 20,000 guests annually. Last week Caraway took a significant step toward a new level of ministry with the groundbreaking of the first major building since 2005. In 2005 a smaller 28-bed camp facility was constructed and in 2006 a small staff unit was built. The Powell/Warren Mountain House, a retreat cabin for pastors, opened two years ago at Caraway. Take a few minutes to read about the new Jacumin Retreat Lodge that is now under construction. It is a facility you will want to use, and it is a big step forward for Caraway’s New Beginnings Campaign. Don’t forget, October is pastor appreciation month. I want to encourage pastors (and church leaders) with an important lesson. Pleasing "everybody" is a losing game. You’ll never win! It will take you to the height of frustration and the depths of defeat, so don’t go there. Instead, take this rich truth to heart, "When a man’s ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him" Proverbs 16:7, NASB. Have you put the BSC annual meeting on your calendar? I encourage you to make it a priority. God is giving us some open doors to impact lostness in North Carolina. The annual meeting is an important element in that strategy. I look forward to seeing you in Greensboro Nov. 11-12. Today is TenTwo day. Are you praying?
