Hollifield: In all things, a time for prayer

K. Allan Blume BR Editor | In the news: Doritos and politics I am astounded by a tweet that a pro-abortion group sent out during the Super Bowl. This story is an absolute "must read" for every Christian. The tweet criticized a Doritos commercial for "humanizing" an unborn child. Unbelievable! This exposes the cruel, barbaric world view of pro-abortion extremists. This is extreme! If you have not read this story, please read it now. Then add this fact that has been exposed after the story was published: the creator of the video said he used the ultrasound of his own son to make the commercial. Indeed, this is a human!! The child is human. The pro-abortion, Planned Parenthood culture of death needs to wake up and deal with life. Speaking of the Super Bowl, our Super Bowl page is loaded with stories, videos and a link to photos provided by our sports correspondent, Roman Gabriel III. He spent the week in Santa Clara, Calif., interviewing athletes and others in the world of professional football. Check it out now. This week’s print issue of the Biblical Recorder continues our conversation about the role of pastors in politics. Pastors differ on the subject of endorsing candidates and the extent to which a pastor should address "political" issues. Many insist that some "political" issues are really biblical issues. Read these comments by Joel Stephens, Jake Thornhill and Michael Waters. Finally, pay close attention to the pro-LGBT ordinance proposed by Charlotte’s mayor and city council. You may think this does not affect you because you live in Asheville, Fayetteville or Wilmington. Think again! If it passes in Charlotte, it will be coming to your town soon. I interviewed Aaron Klein last weekend – he and his wife, Melissa, are the bakers in Oregon who were fined $135,000 for declining to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding. They were in Charlotte to encourage Christians to stand up against the ordinance. Read how the Kleins believe their plight is like the crisis in Charlotte. Pray for believers in Charlotte to be strong and courageous. People need to know! Email me: [email protected] Follow me on Twitter Follow the Biblical Recorder on Twitter |
