K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Girl's 'wish' gift supports missions Have you read Madeline Ray’s powerful story? This 21-year old university student has battled significant physical challenges, yet she took a bold step to help our International Mission Board (IMB) missionaries take the gospel to unreached people groups on the other side of the world. Our circulation manager and writer, Liz Tablazon, interviewed Ray and wrote a very inspirational story about her, and the IMB produced a moving video to tell how this young woman’s generous gift supports international missions. Read the story and share it with your friends. Jesus was a friend of sinners. What did that mean? How did Jesus connect with sinners? In this week’s editorial I expressed my concern over Southern Baptists' downhill slide in reported baptisms and some of our attempts to reverse that trend. Are we missing a key ingredient from the example of Jesus? Are the lost around us open to being our friend? Read my editorial, and let me know your thoughts. Although Mission:Dignity Sunday was the last Sunday in June, it is never too late to give a gift to support this great ministry to retired pastors and their widows. We published two more great stories that share how your gifts are blessing these faithful servants. Read pastor Elvis Durrill’s story here and widow Doris Jackson’s testimony here. Mission:Dignity has made a big difference in their lives! Let me know how the Biblical Recorder can serve you and your church family. We want to be a partner with your pastor and church leaders to make disciples of Jesus Christ in North Carolina. People need to know!
