K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Annual meeting highlighted in BR print We are one month away from the annual meeting of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, so this week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder is packed with information about the gathering. Who will be nominated to serve in leadership positions? What does the budget look like? What’s the schedule and who’s preaching? What about the breakout sessions, pastor’s conference, ministers’ wives conference and other related groups? All of these questions are answered in this week’s edition. Read it thoroughly, pray and plan to be a “team player” with your brothers and sisters in Christ across North Carolina. We need each other! Are you prepared to vote on Nov. 6? My editorial this week provides the information you need to vote in the coming elections. If you will be attending the annual meeting in Greensboro, plan to cast your ballot early. I explain how to vote early or as an absentee voter, in addition to how to register and locate your polling place. I believe this information will be helpful. Tuesday afternoon Chuck Kelley, president of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, announced his plans to retire July 31, 2019. This announcement prompted J.D. Greear, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, to call for a special day of prayer for the search committees of five SBC entities that are now seeking a president. Read the story on BRnow.org. Keep praying for those affected by Hurricane Florence. Pray for the many volunteer workers, and give generously to support this outstanding ministry. Give to the North Carolina Missions Offering or to baptistsonmission.org. More volunteers are needed! Thank you for allowing the BR team to serve you and your church family. You have the BR Advantage!. People need to know! Email me: [email protected] Follow me on Twitter Follow the Biblical Recorder on Twitter |
