K. Allan Blume BR Editor | BCH expands outreach This week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder contains news and information that enriches the ministry of the local church. Read about the Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) of North Carolina’s latest ministry expansion. The Bob and Carolyn Tucker Greater Vision Outreach Center is another way BCH is expanding the resources of your church’s Cooperative Program (CP) support by reaching families in crisis. Pray for this new ministry and all of the ministries that extend beyond your local church through your CP support. This is Baptist teamwork in action! Milton Hollifield’s regular column in the Recorder points to an important training opportunity for your church. The annual Disciple-Making Conference is scheduled for Tues., Feb. 26 at Green Street Baptist Church in High Point. The event features messages from John Stonestreet of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview and more than 30 breakout sessions from a variety of pastors, church practitioners, ministry leaders and state convention staff. Hollifield said the conference will address how we can be salt and light in the face of today’s many challenges. Feb. 26 is not far away. Is it on your calendar? In my editorial, I revisited a subject that seems to elude us – the practice of civility. That should not be difficult for Christians to handle, but incivility seems to be epidemic. Please take a few minutes to read my comments and share your thoughts. How can we be more intentional to instill civil behavior and Christ-honoring conversation in social media? How are you modeling civility? What is the key to undermining incivility? I would really like to hear from our readers. With Super Bowl 52 approaching, we thought our readers would like to read how God is using some National Football League players to have a positive impact on others. Read Roman Gabriel’s latest Q&A here and pray for the gospel outreach that will be happening behind the scenes at this year’s Super Bowl game in Atlanta.
