K. Allan Blume BR Editor | The sanctity of human life cannot be ignored This Sunday, January 20, is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Pastors, please don’t let your church become inwardly focused by ignoring this significant date. We cannot afford to offer even the smallest amount of support to the culture of death. Pray that the gift of life will not continue to be stolen from unborn children in our otherwise civilized world. This week is also the annual Evangelicals for Life event in Washington, D.C. You can participate even if you can’t travel to conference location in northern Virginia. Here is a portion of an email I received from Dan Darling, VP of Communications at Southern Baptists’ Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission: “This conference will focus on ways that you can make a difference and stand up for the vulnerable – be they the unborn, elderly or immigrants – in your own community. Featuring speakers like Russell Moore, Keith and Kristyn Getty, Steven Curtis Chapman, Karen Ellis and over 50 others, Evangelicals for Life will be packed full of pro-life stories and practical advice to help you get involved in the fight for life. “We know many of you cannot come in person, but we want to invite you to join us via our free simulcast. On January 16-17, join us at live.evangelicals.life and follow along from wherever you are. You will also be able to rewind the simulcast once it has begun. If you're at work during the day, go to the link and rewind to any sessions you missed. You can check out the full schedule here.” Take a few minutes to read the other news highlighted in this weekly e-newsletter and pray for the people mentioned in the stories. Thank you for depending on the Biblical Recorder as your source for news and information with a biblical worldview. People need to know! |
