K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Anticipation building for SEND Conference It’s being called the largest gathering of Southern Baptists in decades. The attendance will more than double the 5,400 Baptists at the most recent annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio. The Send Conference will open this Monday morning, August 3, in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and continue through the end of the next day. It is sponsored jointly by the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board. More than 13,000 have registered. I will be there, along with hundreds of other attendees from North Carolina, to report the news from Nashville. Pray the conference will be a catalyst for Great Commission ministries all over the world. Pray that it will light a fire in the heart of everyone who gathers to worship and grow in truth. The cruel, despicable activities of Planned Parenthood (PP) just keep getting worse! Those who are exposing the truth about this evil organization are being labeled as "right wingers" who murder abortion doctors and bomb abortion clinics. Baseless accusations like these are intended to shift blame and distract from truth. Shame on PP for their horrible record against human decency and for their failure to admit the truth. Their work should never have been funded by taxpayers and should be completely defunded immediately. Read the stories we are publishing about PP and this one that tells the alternatives abortion. Have you read this week’s editorial, "The wrong side of God"? Read it and think about it. People need to know! |
