K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Arsonist strikes N.C. Baptist church I talked with Ernie Richards several times on Monday and Tuesday. He is the vibrant, 85 year-old pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Vale, N.C. Sunday the church baptized two new believers and dedicated more than 200 shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child project. Some time after church members left the property that evening, an arsonist vandalized the property and set one of the church buildings on fire. The pastor was called to the church property around 1:45 a.m. Monday as firefighters arrived. Read the story here. As we know, times of crisis are often filled with opportunities to shine the light of Jesus in a dark world. Pray for this church family and their witness at this important time. Our lead story in this week’s BRweekly is about Milton Hollifield’s message to the convention at last week’s annual meeting. I’ve heard Milton preach many times in churches, at conferences and in our annual meetings. The message he delivered this year was clearly the most powerful, anointed message I have ever heard from his heart and voice. If you were not at the meeting, please watch it on Vimeo. In this week’s printed edition of the Biblical Recorder I shared an overview of my brief report to the convention. Please read it and help us impact your church with news and information from a biblical worldview. Thank you for allowing us to serve you and your church family.
