K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Annual Meeting attendance up Members of North Carolina Baptist churches assembled in Greensboro this week to worship, conduct business and hear encouraging ministry reports around the theme, “Who is my neighbor?” This year’s messengers and registered guests totaled 1,682, topping the 1,545 who attended the 2017 annual meeting. Read the reports from the events in today’s edition of the BRweekly and throughout the week as more stories are added to the website. Next week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder will also be packed with news and information from the annual meeting and associated gatherings. Beyond our state, a big announcement came from the International Mission Board’s (IMB) presidential search team Tuesday afternoon. My wife and I have known Paul Chitwood for about a dozen years. He is a good choice to lead the IMB, but he needs our prayers. Leading any Southern Baptist entity is very difficult. Pray that Chitwood will have wisdom, courage and vision to lead the world’s greatest international mission force. Have you visited the Baptist State Convention's new website? Read the story about this new launch and check out the new site soon. It's a great site with a great new look! Sunday, November 11 is Veterans Day. Take time to show your appreciation to those who have served in the United States military.
