K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Sunday, Dec. 3 is important day Next Sunday is the first day of two important annual celebrations. First, this is the beginning of a four-week celebration of Advent. The Biblical Recorder provides a special page to guide your family through this meaningful celebration of the first coming of Jesus to this earth. Of course, the material is equally valuable for individual use through the season. Visit BRnow.org/Advent and discover these helpful resources. We’ve added a brand new book to the list of devotional materials for Advent. If you have discovered other encouraging material that is not on our list, please share it with us. We might want to include it on our resource page. Second, Sunday, Dec. 3 begins the Week of Prayer for International Missions. The International Mission Board is providing resources to guide your prayers and to help prepare your church for a generous offering to support our international missionaries. We celebrate their work and the privilege the Father has given all His children to proclaim the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ to every tongue, tribe and nation of the world. Pray that our Baptist family will respond to the offering with extreme generosity in gratitude for the gift of eternal life. The Biblical Recorder staff joins you in celebrating Thanksgiving this week. We are thankful for the privilege of having free access to a copy of the Word of God. We are thankful for the privilege of serving alongside a great team of churches, institutions, believers and leaders across the state. We are thankful for you. Thank you for allowing us to serve you and your church. Have a super-blessed Thanksgiving! People need to know! |
