Be missional in the marketplace this holiday season
K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Two major events begin Sunday You know Christmas Day is not far away when it’s time for the week of prayer for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. It begins this Sunday, Dec. 2 and continues through the following Sunday. I’m excited to invite you to look on page nine of this week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder. Follow the 8-day prayer guide our staff prepared for you and your church. I believe this resource will be a useful tool as you pray for our international missionaries by name and pray about your gift to support our IMB team. Pray that all Southern Baptists will give sacrificially to proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth. This year Advent also begins on the first day of the week of prayer. What a great time to incorporate the international missions theme into your Advent devotions! If you’re not familiar with the rich celebration of Advent, read this week’s editorial, “What are you learning from Advent?” in print or online. Then check out the resources we provide on the Biblical Recorder’s website. This week’s news includes a story about the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission’s very important step toward drawing attention to the decades-old Roe v. Wade controversy. This action is long overdue and will surely be opposed by the culture of death. Pray that godly leaders will take strategic, biblical steps that lead our Supreme Court to consider the harsh realities surrounding the abortion issue. I hope you have a great start to your celebration of the birth of Jesus, the Savior! People need to know! Email me: [email protected] Follow me on Twitter Follow the Biblical Recorder on Twitter |
