K. Allan Blume BR Editor | NC Baptist news For three days this week, Baptists in North Carolina gathered in Greensboro for the 2017 Pastor’s Conference and the annual meeting of our state convention. Of course, there were many related meetings that included minister’s wives, missionaries and a lot of affinity groups. After attending state conventions for 40 years, I can tell you this time is always packed with opportunities to learn, fellowship, grow, pray and worship. Included in this e-newsletter are reports about some of the actions and results of the meetings. We will post more stories on BRnow.org this week, and next week’s printed Biblical Recorder will also include news from the meetings. A few hours before we began our meetings in Greensboro, an unthinkable tragedy happened in a small Baptist church in Texas. We have been grieving and praying for that church and for the community where 26 church-goers were killed by a crazed gunman. The ripple effects of this tragedy are yet to be seen. Pray! Thank you for allowing the Biblical Recorder to serve you and your church. |
