K. Allan Blume BR Editor | This news is significant One of the hottest items in the news this week is the ruling of a Utah judge that opens the door for the legalization of polygamy. Principled people in every corner are crying out, "I told you so." It has been stated profoundly throughout the debate on homosexual marriage that the only logical conclusion to the argument of the gay community is the removal of all restrictions on marriage, including polygamy. Russell Moore, president of the SBC Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), said, "Sadly, when marriage is elastic enough to mean anything, in due time it comes to mean nothing." Read this story on our website. Another good perspective is written by Elizabeth Bristow and is available here on the ERLC’s website. Trust me, this issue is worth your attention. Last week in this space I shared a challenge to give generously to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. I have expanded that column and shared a further challenge in this week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder. Take a moment to read my comments here on our website. This offering is not simply a denominational act. It is a vital, Kingdom offering that God is using to change the world. Please give generously. The BRweekly will be published as usual next Wednesday on Christmas morning. You can play with your new tablet or laptop by reading this e-newsletter and browsing through the BRnow.org website.
