K. Allan Blume BR Editor | 9/11 changed everything We’ll never forget that vicious attack on America 12 years ago today by Muslim terrorists. The massive loss of life, the shock to our personal security and the extreme changes in air traffic proved to be the beginning of significant alterations to our lifestyles. For a short time in 2001 Americans turned to God and churches for hope. But the spiritual "revival" did not last long. Since then we have become more secular and less religious than any time in the history of our country. We have continued to take the life of millions of innocent children by abortion, elected a secularist president over a Mormon, endorsed homosexual "marriage," experienced national financial chaos and saw declines in both church attendance and giving to churches. Worldwide the USA has been engaged in costly wars and battles. Churches and church leaders need a "second wind" to run the race and navigate the challenging obstacle course of secular culture. Alex McFarland is a leader in equipping the church with a biblical worldview. In a few weeks he is leading a powerful conference in Charlotte. I strongly encourage you to attend "Truth for a New Generation 2013" at Northside Baptist Church, Charlotte, September 27-28. The strong lineup of speakers includes Eric Metaxas, Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell, Elmer Towns, Tony Perkins, Erwin Lutzer, Mike Licona and Fox News anchor, Lauren Green. Tell your church family about this event and register today on the Truth for a New Generation website. Please continue to give generously to the N.C. Missions Offering this month. This offering is very important to our Kingdom witness in North Carolina! Email me: [email protected] |
