K. Allan Blume BR Editor | Baptist editors meet The editors of your Baptist state papers meet one time each year to learn how we can do a better job of providing news and information for our readers. We learn from successful journalists and hear from key Southern Baptist leaders. This is the week of our meeting which happens to be on the Alabama Gulf coast. We are enjoying time with David Platt, president of the International Mission Board; Jason Allen, president of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Russell Moore, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission; Frank Page, CEO of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention; Kevin Ezell, president of the North American Mission Board; and Ronnie Floyd, president of the Southern Baptist Convention. This is a very important time for those of us who feed vital information to our Southern Baptist family. Please pray that we will have godly wisdom, skill, creativity, boldness and discernment to do our best for God’s glory. We do this because we want to be strong partners with our churches to fulfill the Great Commission. We do this because "People Need To Know!" I hope the stories in this week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder and the online content on BRnow.org inform, encourage and challenge you as you walk with God. Are you are holding Feb. 23 for the 'One Story’ conference? I am excited to see how God will use this meeting to change lives for eternity! |
